Commonwealth Scholarship Pakistan

Commonwealth Scholarship Pakistan 2020 has announced. Application for this scholarship requires HAT (General), which is quite similar to GAT (General). This scholarship is offered for postgraduate study in UK. Approximately 900 scholarships and fellowships are distributed from all commonwealth countries every year. Over 26,000 scholars and fellows have received this award in commonwealth countries till date. As Pakistan is among the commonwealth countries, students from this country receive 80 scholarships every year. Students receive this scholarship to study in commonwealth countries for MS program or for PhD programs separately (but not MS leading to PhD). In this page you will get complete information about this scholarship for Pakistani candidates.

So, HAT (General) = GAT (General)     &

Eligibility Criteria for Commonwealth Scholarship:

Following are the eligible criteria for Pakistani students to apply for this scholarship:

1. Must be a citizen of Pakistan
2. Must have completed 16-years of education to apply for MS program, and 18-years of educations to apply for PhD program.

Note: Result awaiting candidates are not eligible to apply.

Those who have fulfilled the above criteria can apply. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you must complete your education. 16-years of education required to apply for Masters Program. Additionally, this scholarship is not for those who want to apply for MS leading to PhD program. That is you have to come back to Pakistan after completion of Masters from abroad. Also note that students who didn’t received their university degree could not apply. Those who received their final degree and transcript are confidently apply.

How to apply for Commonwealth Scholarship:

Many people have asked me How to apply for Commonwealth Scholarship? Firstly, you should know what organization is responsible to shortlist candidates in Pakistan. Ministry of inter-provincial coordination in Pakistan is responsible to select applicants from all over Pakistan. Applications for Commonwealth Scholarship Pakistan are invited by Higher Education Commission Pakistan.

Read more about How to apply for Commonwealth Scholarship.

Commonwealth Scholarship Test Pattern:

Firstly, Commonwealth Scholarship Test Pattern is similar to GAT, but it requires rigorous preparation. Just as GAT test pattern, Commonwealth Scholarship test pattern has three sections: Quantitative reasoning, Verbal reasoning and Analytical reasoning. Usually candidates who get more than 85 marks receive call for interview.

Read further about Commonwealth Scholarship Test Pattern.

About negative marking in this test:

Many students also asked me whether is there negative marking in Commonwealth Scholarship test? Please be clear about it. There is NO NEGATIVE MARKING in this exam. Attempt every questions and never left any question blank. As there’s chance that you would have better luck on your guesses. Also few students asked that how many questions come in such exam. There are total 100 questions of 1 mark each. Whether it’s easy question or difficult, every question has equal weightage.

So I advise you to attempt your favorite section first and least favorite at the end. And if you left only two minutes in your exam, just forget what you are doing. And answer the remaining questions on random guesses in that two minutes. Please note that answering one question require almost average 8 seconds even on guess. Because filling circles properly is time taking task. So never wait for few seconds to answer remaining question. Start answering remaining those questions when you hear about time that only two minutes left.

Commonwealth Scholarship Test Preparation:

After understanding the application procedure and test pattern, you have to plan for commonwealth scholarship test preparation. It is important to note that mare passing this test with 50 marks does not mean success. In other words, there is no as such passing or failing criteria. As the competition is very high, so you need to get minimum 85 marks out of 100. Many preparation books that are available in the market are outdated or out of scope. These books only help in getting approximately 40-60 marks. To help you in this test preparation, I have made an updated online course and 5 practice tests at very economical fee.

Please read more about Commonwealth Scholarship Test Preparation

Important Note: Commonwealth Scholarship Test date is November 9th, 2019..

Finally, after becoming aware of “Commonwealth Scholarship Pakistan”, you need to get excellent score in Commonwealth Scholarship Test. In order to do so, just follow the 30-days study plan for this test. This study plan includes: Beginners free Refresher, Preparation Plan, and Practice Session, which includes 5-full length practice tests. These practice tests have questions from past exams. Hi Waseem,

I recently gave the GRE (the ETS one) and scored 167 V, 160 Q and 5 A. I have not prepared at all for this test though I just learned through mail, yesterday, that I have to give it on Sunday. I wanted to know if it is worth going unprepared for the test, given I just recently gave my GRE’s? I was hoping just to review some word lists.

Hi.
Do you have any sample papers that we can practice? I just learnt through mail yesterday about the test. I did give my GRE recently, should i just do one of the GRE sample tests to get back in flow?
Also, Whats the time duration of this test?
It would be great if you could respond to this to your earliest.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reference. I shall definitely look into your papers. If you had to scale it (1-10) in terms of difficulty between a GAT General Test and an international GRE Test, with GAT being 1 and GRE being 10, how would you rate it?
I think this particular question can benefit many.

Hi Mubasher,
Apologies for the name confusion.

That sounds promising, but aren’t urban and rural domiciles treated separately? If yes, I would assume the cut-off would be harder for urban.

I have completed my MS and applied for final Transcript. The application only had option for 16 years of education which i attached as it is already completed. Till the time of test comes i will have both my transcript and degree.
My question is. will there be a different test for MS applicants and Phd applicants ? or both will be same.
If both will be the same i guess i am eligible for Phd application.

A.A brother. I have heard that scoring 85 or more in this test will put you among the selected candidates for next step. However I have also heard that the next step is not an interview. Here you have said that after being on merit one is called for interview but I think interview is only for Phd students not MS. Further Phd students have to go through a different channel not nts test. Please clarify. I have applied for MS in this test twice and got 70 then 76.
